Same old same old

It's been almost 3 weeks since I posted anything. Nothing major has happened around here lately. Just the same old same old! Here's what the same old is:

Basketball - Matthew & Ty have been playing basketball every Saturday. Ash is coaching Ty. It's been fun and dramatic! Matthew is doing great and getting into the game and see his height as a true advantage. Tyler is a natural. He's still learning a lot but he has good instincts and follows the ball really well. The drama part comes from one game 2 weeks ago. Ash and the other coach called the game because of yelling, bad sport parents. It was the only game I'd been too and brought the little one two. It was everything I hate about city league sports! All amateur sports with parents involved I should say. There is actually more to the drama but I don't feel like rehashing it again. Let's put it this way: Ash handled it great, city totally supports him, parents support him, except one set who think their child does nothing wrong included using bad words that I don't want to repeat. Use your imagination and I bet you still don't know the worst thing he said! Enough said.

Annie - As if basketball wasn't enough we have Annie in tennis every Saturday. She rocks! The Spanish Fork High coach is teaching her and says she's doing great! She's going to be 14 in a couple of months and boy is she acting her age! Texting, crushes, rolling the eyes at everything, sarcasm above and beyond, music, embarrassed by her Dad (not her Mom yet). But we love her and we'll keep her for a little over 4 more years -yikes that sounds way too close!

2 more Saturdays and we are free from sports for a while!

Jack - muddy mess! Loving school! Is the most responsible son I have at turning in homework. I know, I'm surprised too! Must play or he might die! What's new.

Jessie - acting like a 2 year old! Tells me, "Bubba is my best friend." So cute yet such a princess! (you know the spoiled little girl type) She was brought to me during nursery because she was taking toys away and hitting. So a bully princess! That was 2 weeeks ago and she hasn't visited me since. Hopefully it's a phase! For all of you who wonder if she talks, she does. She's talking more and more. She's a lazy talker like Matthew. When she really wants something she speaks loud and clear. One day she wouldn't give Annie a hug. A little while later I was doing my hair in my bathroom and in comes Jessie. Clear as a bell she says, "I made Annie sad Mom." I did a double take to see was talking. She felt really bad. I told her to go tell Annie she was sorry and give her a hug. She said, "thanks Mom" and ran to find Annie. She turns 3 in 3 weeks! She's really excited for her "Happy Birthday" as she calls it. Her favorite new song - "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam". Of course "I Know You" from Sleeping Beauty is also sung a lot!

Cameron - starting to actually love nursery!!! He cried Sunday when we left him but it was more of a "oh yeah, it's nursery I'm supposed to cry" kind of cry. He calmed down really fast. He's also talking more and more. Favorite words - "eat, mac n' cheese, more, food". I'm sensing a pattern! He loves to eat! Ash went into nursery Sunday, to bring one of his primary girls to her mom (the nursery teacher) to go potty. He walked in and Cameron yells "Daddy". Cam runs and gives him a hug the runs back to the table to finish his feast of goldfish crackers, and raisins. He didn't even care when Ash left because he was eating!

Me - cleaning up, laundry, laundry, laundry, kids, kids, kids, hurting, etc. I'm loving being the Primary chorister! We learned "How Firm a Foundation" this past month. Challenge! But they learned it faster than I thought they would. It sounds great! I especially loved teaching them the word "omnipotent" last Sunday. The Sunbeams just starred at me. Next month is an new song I've never heard before this year. I'm trying to learn it so I can teach it to the kids. It's about building eternal families. The little boys will love it because the first line is "I am a builder working each day to build my family". It's got a builder beat too. In January we also learned a new song "The Familiy is of God". The song is based upon the Family Proclamation. Not all Primaries are learning this song. I love it! Senior primary knows it pretty well. I get chills when they sing the chorus!

Ash - working as usual. He's the best support I could ever have! Just for the record he has NEVER come home and asked what I'd done all day because it looks like I've done nothing! Smart man! He's doing a great job teaching primary. We've actually had some parents request him as a teacher for their kids. He's teaching half of the Primary presidency's kids right now. He loves to laugh at me when I mess up singing and he's so helpful is pointing out the words I've messed up. That's ok I make him do as much as possible to help me. He had to sing in Portuguese for one singing time.

That's about it. We are anxious for Spring around here. Can't wait for the GIANT snow drift in the backyard to melt so we can play in the muddy lake in our backyard! It should be dried out by June.

Gotta go make lunch. Cameron is bringing me food and plates. I think he's trying to tell me something. What could he want?
